Preparing our students for top colleges and universities

College Park Academy (CPA) is a rigorous college prep school for grades 6–12 located in the University of Maryland (UMD) Discovery District. CPA is the result of a collaboration between UMD and the City of College Park. Our students are challenged academically as they progress through personalized curriculum, combining online and on-site courses tailored to suit their individual learning needs.

College Park Academy’s rigorous curriculum, student-centered learning, online-learning platform, and dedicated teachers and other professionals help prepare our scholars for top colleges and universities.

The curriculum at CPA is rigorous so that all students will be challenged. Because it is self-paced, those who are excelling can move ahead of general class instruction. Those who are struggling can move more slowly and benefit from on-site tutoring to master their lessons. Allowing children to learn at their own pace ensures they are learning the material in ways that are best for them so they can be the most successful.

CPA’s curriculum content is online, allowing students to access it at school, at home, or anywhere. It also houses each class’s syllabus and entire curriculum for each semester. Called Connexus, it allows students—and parents—to refer to individual lessons that they can review for quizzes and exams. CPA’s Connexus Parent Portal allows parents and caretakers to access their child’s curriculum, see assignment due dates, how they will be graded, and numeric grades—in real time. Because teachers, students, AND parents can see such timely information, they can easily collaborate to keep students on track, or help them if they are falling behind.
