College Park Academy is a rigorous college-prep school focused on helping students earn admittance into top colleges and universities.
UMD Partnership
We have partnered with the top-ranked University of Maryland (UMD) to offer our students a variety of Advanced Placement and college courses, including multiple taught by UMD faculty. Students have a personalized school experience that meets their individual needs through a mix of on-site classes and online learning. By the time CPA students graduate, they demonstrate mastery of core subjects including English, math, science, social studies, fine arts, physical education, health, technology, and world languages. Much of the curriculum is project-based and designed to enhance learning, providing students hands-on experiences in which they learn to approach problem-solving with collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
Environment
College Park Academy provides a supportive school environment in which students learn, grow, and thrive. With fewer than 700 students, our intentionally small school allows each student to take advantage of resources and support. Our devoted staff and partnership with UMD create an extensive support network for students, as well as for parents and caretakers. College Park Academy students graduate with the skills, knowledge, confidence, and support to dive into their future academic and career endeavors.
Curriculum
Our technology-driven projects and curriculum requires each student to own a laptop. Originally, the school was going to provide each student with his or her own laptop, but after the first few semesters it became clear kids preferred the laptops they used at home. Personal technology maximizes and enhances students’ education by giving them a sense of control and responsibility—lifelong skills required to succeed in adulthood.

Online Learning Platform
CPA’s online learning platform, Connexus, is not only a place for students to complete computer-based assignments. It also houses each class’s entire curriculum for each semester. Through Connexus, students can refer to individual lessons to review for quizzes and exams—and so can parents. The Connexus Parent Portal allows parents and guardians to access their child’s curriculum, see assignment due dates, how they will be graded, and numeric grades—in real time. Because teachers, students, AND parents can see such timely information, they can easily collaborate to keep students on track, or help them get back there if they are falling behind.
