The College Park Academy Advantage is that our students have access to an extensive support network. Because CPA was founded on a partnership between the City of College Park and UMD, the whole community is invested in our students’ success, building community engagement and support.
Key Features
Continuity
Our students enroll at CPA in middle school and can stay with us until high school graduation. Compared to traditional middle school and high schools, this creates a deep sense of community within the school. Students and parents get to know each other and our staff, and these relationships foster collaboration, shared values, and trust and create and environment in which children can thrive.
Extensive Support
Our staff members are invested in the success of our students, and our students know it; they see it during tutoring sessions after school, test reviews and retakes during lunch periods, field trips to interesting places, and projects designed to capture their imagination and fuel their creativity.
UMD partnership
Partnering with UMD provides another level of student support that can extend beyond graduation. Students form connections and relationships with UMD colleges through our Specialty Programs. These connections can follow them into their college years and provide a smooth transition and a confident start to the next chapter of their lives.
